2014 CEVA Regionals in Portland.

Dear CEVA Members and Families,

It is my great pleasure to announce the 2014 CEVA Regional Championships will be held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.

With more than 45 courts in one location, all ages and divisions will participate on the same weekend, April 26th and 27th 2014.

We are working with Travel Portland and believe the move to the Oregon Convention Center will enhance the CEVA Regionals experience for players, coaches, families and spectators.  Over the next few weeks and months, we will be making more announcements regarding hotel accommodations, entertainment opportunities and ways Clubs can benefit from the move.

I’d like to thank the CEVA Junior Girls Committee and the CEVA Board of Directors for their help in making this possible.

Thank you for the support and see you next year in Portland!

Sincerely,

Breen Goodwin
Executive Director

Why isn't your son playing Volleyball?

A father from our region submitted this letter...

As I thought about sports to involve my young son in, I wanted to find a sport that would increase his strength and athletic prowess, would not injure him, and would provide him with opportunities to play no matter where he was. A sport that would serve as a social outlet for him - a way to meet people and a sport he would enjoy playing for the rest of his life.

You may be thinking: Golf! And golf is one great option. But I was looking for something a little more cardiovascular. That’s when I thought of volleyball - a sport that, believe it or not, is vastly more popular than golf. If you have a son, you might be interested in the results of my research...

The Top 5 Reasons Your Son should be playing Volleyball
Men’s Volleyball is a Power Sport: Check out these videos:
The Russian Olympic team has a 7” tall hitter who jump serves! It’s definitely a power game when he’s on the court.
Ever heard of NBA star Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves? Guess where he was during the NBA lockout? Playing Volleyball on the Pro Beach Tour  Yes, Kevin can hit the ball pretty hard too. I think your son would be impressed.

DID YOU KNOW?

Volleyball tournaments are virtually a breeding ground for THEFT!

Bags left unattended, hundreds of people passing through; it can all be very tempting.

Therefore, it is a good idea to leave all personal items of value at home!

Columbia Empire Volleyball Association is NOT responsible for the theft of any and all personal items. Although we sympathize with anyone who may have encountered a situation regarding theft, it is not our responsibility to keep track of all personal items brought along to tournaments.
